Massive building to be green

For a skyline that has remained unchanged for some time, the people of Philadelphia in the States are going to get a surprise when the second tallest building in the world appears in their city. The American commerce centre will rise up into the sky for 1,500 feet, the empire state building stands at 1,250 feet.

However this is not going to be an ordinary building either, because not only will be housing a hotel, office space, retail space and a theatre, the building is going to be a green building too.

The buildings designers are hoping to achieve the highly acclaimed gold certification from the US Green Building Councils LEED program. In order to achieve the green standard there will be a need for water and energy efficiency, which has the potential to save money and resources over the years that the building will be operational.
