Making a home green

Today it is not as easy to sell your home as it was several years ago; this has nothing to do with the credit crunch or lack of buyers. Because sometimes the problems start with the home being energy efficient, this is a major concern these days and if a seller wants to get a descent price for their home then going green now could be a good investment.

Surprisingly some of these jobs can be done by a competent DIY enthusiast, although there are always some jobs that will require some expert assistance, especially those jobs that are highly technical, such as solar panels etc.

Below are some of the things that can be done to make a home green.

Right bulbs at the right level
Unplug your home electronics
Go solar or go home
Seal your home
Return to the good old days of doing the laundry
Build a recycling centre
Install energy-efficient appliances
Make your tools as green as they can be
