UK privacy group want street view closed
As with other countries where Google’s Street View has gone online, the complaints have come rolling in as the system goes live in the UK.
Almost immediately, after the launch people began airing their views, which are divided some feel that it is a good idea while others do not like it at all.
Enter Privacy International (PI) they have stepped in and filled a formal complaint to the UK’s information commissioner.
PI claim that the Street View service has been causing embarrassment and damage to many residents in the UK, and that it should be closed down while the authorities look into the complaints.
Google have made sure that faces and other things that could identify a person are blurred, but for the PI and many Britons this is simply not good enough.
