All UK homes to be powered by wind power

One of the most ambitious plans for green energy is the one that the UK government have come up with, they state that by the year 2020 the UK will be completely powered by wind, which is not only a wild statement but could prove to be virtually impossible.

At the moment the UK gets around two per cent of the power needed from the wind farms, this is around half a gigawatt, in order to provide enough power for the entire country the requirement would be over thirty gigawatts!

In order to provide this amount of power from the wind there would need to be huge areas of sea and land completely covered with wind turbines.
