Innocent man has to pay B&B

A man who was accused of being rapist and spent three years in jail before it was found out that his accuser was a liar, has had to pay the Prison Service £12,500 for his rent and food while being in prison.

This amazing revelation comes as his case for compensation is resolved with a payout of £252,500, but the cost of his accommodation and food etc had to be taken off that figure before he got the money.

Father of two, Warren Blackwell, 38, wanted to fight the expenses claim, but his solicitor told him that he would probably loose all of the compensation money, so he has had to swallow the amount and pay up for his bed and board courtesy of the Prison Service.
